You Are Not A Gadget
No tiptoeing around, no overly careful, politically correct, diplomatic non-opinions. Lanier has a loud voice and doesn’t play it safe, although the take-home message is still unclear to me. But for sure it made me think about and question things that I have taken for granted. It also caught me in a good time when I had the patience to read the not very well structured and argumented essay. So even though the writing style is quite terrible (unique ?), I really enjoyed reading it… a strange contradiction. Maybe it’s just unique. There’s no real point in rating a book like this on a linear scale… and maybe this is true for any book.
