The Road
I didn’t know anything about this book, except that I bought it after searching for post-apocalyptic novels… Even with that expectation it was still pretty dark.
I liked the style very much, it reminded me of Hemingway a bit (not that I read tons of Hemingway but still…). Odd and repetitive sentence structure, some arcane words thrown in which I had to look up. Some paragraphs were good to re-read, they had such a great rhythm. The story is extremely dark and depicts an awful world. Great work, really immmersive, thougth-provoking and cruel.
