Memories of a Hong Kong Childhood

The author spent a defining period of his childhood in Hong Kong, and this book is a recollection of that period.

Just like Hong Kong, the book is vibrant, full of life - describing the multitude of (sometimes strange) delicacies and customs, Chinese spirituality and the local gods, unique people with unique stories, an exotic location and its history, the abundance of joss sticks, firecrackers, pidgin English and fragments of Cantonese vocabulary. I really enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in Hong Kong.
