Ethics in the real world
A collection of essays by philosopher/ethicist Peter Singer on various topics, including healthcare, bioethics, social responsibility, charities, sex and gender, animal rights, money, science and technology and happiness.
All of them are thought-provoking - the auther doesn’t necessarily force a point of view, but rather, highlights inconsistencies in how we usually think about things. Putting things into global perspective is one of the recurring methods that he uses.
This book is a good travel companion because the essays are short, so you can finish one or more while you are waiting or are on a train, and so on.
