Do No Harm
From a book written by a neurosurgeon, I expected a more self-assured, confident and perhaps even a bit pompous tone. I was very wrong.
It’s a brutally honest account of what’s it like being a neurosurgeon, a career in which, when you make a mistake (as inevitably, everyone does, no matter what their profession is), the consequences are almost guaranteed to be catashrophic. It doesn’t really make surgery an appealing career - the author even mentions that you have to be at least a little bit of a psychopath to choose this path.
